Sam Patel, RPh, MBA – CEO and Founder
Sam Patel brings over 25 years of varied experience in the healthcare industry. After 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Sam decided to test his entrepreneur skills, when he founded Medical Marketing Solutions Group (MMSG), a boutique medical education communications company located in Somerset, New Jersey. As CEO and Founder of the company, Sam oversees the day-to-day operations for the company and makes himself available to all of MMSG’s clients.
Prior to founding MMSG, Sam spent 6 years at Meda Pharmaceuticals where he worked in various leadership positions across the business. Positions included Director of Medical Marketing, Director of National Education and Strategy, and Senior Director of Medical Affairs and Field Support. In this latter role, he was responsible for a team in Medical Affairs that covered advocacy development, congresses, compliance, grants, advisory boards, publications, medical information, and copy review.
Prior to his time at Meda Pharmaceuticals, Sam spent 4 years at Sanofi-Aventis, where he led Medical Education Operations for the Respiratory Business Unit. Before Sanofi-Aventis, he was the Senior Manager of Business Development at Kenexa/Red Nucleus in the Pharmaceutical Training Solutions Group. His industry career began at BMS where he spent time in the field as a specialty representative and Medical Liaison and later served in Cardiovascular/Metabolics Marketing where he concentrated on professional promotions, training, sales support, and MSL programming. Sam is a registered pharmacist in the state of New Jersey and has an MBA with a concentration in pharmaceutical management. He has earned multiple top honors and president’s club awards during his time in the pharmaceutical industry and hopes to grow MMSG by adding highly motivated and accomplished individuals to the current leadership team.
Chris Cognetti, Vice President
As Vice President, Chris Cognetti is a member of MMSG’s senior leadership team with shared management, oversight, and responsibility for agency strategy, operations, and business development. He brings with him more than 2 decades of leadership, marketing, training, and sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, Chris uses his dual agency and industry background to manage MMSG’s daily team operations and provide clients with strategic recommendations to achieve their goals.
Prior to joining MMSG, Chris has been an award-winning visionary adept at fostering strategic relationships and driving business growth. He started his career at Novartis as a sales professional. Soon thereafter he was promoted to district manager where he had a track record for developing winning teams. After 10 years, Chris joined Meda Pharmaceuticals where he began his marketing career. During this time he spearheaded strategic and tactical planning for medical marketing programming and managed P&L. This experience provided a strong platform for his eventual role as the head of Marketing Excellence at Novo Nordisk. In other positions Chris has led the growth and business development for digital and data-driven agencies to help marketers maximize results in a constantly-shifting marketplace.
John Robinson, Executive Director of Operations
John Robinson has been affiliated with MMSG since 2012. As Executive Director of Operations, he is responsible for the effective and successful delivery of the medical and promotional programs that MMSG offers. John defines, communicates, and measures key goals and expectations for all program operations.
John’s experience in hospitality and program management spans over 20 years, 16 within the medical education forum. He has directly managed both promotional and CME initiatives, including steering committees, webcasts, monographs, publication plans, and live (regional and international) meetings ranging from 20 to 5,000 attendees. He has been fortunate enough to have worked as an accredited CME provider (USF Health Continuing Professional Development) as well as one of the top travel companies in the United States (Maritz Travel Company).
Prior to MMSG, John founded JbyronMeetings, partnering with pharmaceutical, financial, and IT initiatives.
Megan K. Hall, MS, Senior Director of Medical Strategy
Megan K. Hall joined MMSG in 2017. As Senior Director of Medical Strategy, she uses her deep foundation of scientific knowledge, expertise for commercialization strategy, and insight of customer and technology solutions to create engaging content for payer, healthcare provider, and patient audiences.
Megan studied genetics and chemistry at Ball State University (BSU) and proceeded to graduate school studying chemistry in the educational industry, earning the presidential award from BSU. She continued to teach chemistry in a secondary education setting and Ivy Tech, using data-driven techniques and inquiry-based laboratories to best educate her students. Passionate about the sciences and education, she then joined the pharmaceutical industry, working with several pharmaceutical companies where she partnered with the marketing and medical affairs teams (US and global) to develop strategy, innovative solutions, and inventive content for payer, provider, and patient audiences during all stages of the product (pre-launch, launch, and post-launch).
Throughout her years in the pharmaceutical industry, Megan has worked in many therapeutic areas, including respiratory, endocrinology, autoimmune, oncology, women’s health, and men’s health. She is adept at developing workshops, content, and executive reports for advisory boards, along with compelling medical education, promotional materials, core claims documents, market research stimulus, and competitive analysis reports.
